Tulloch Primary School
Courage and Compassion

Welcome to our ISP

Our Intensive Support Provision at Tulloch consists of two classes, Starburst and Lighthouse.  We currently support 20 children throughout our school who have needs consistent with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

Provisions attached to mainstream schools are for children who are adversely impacted by their additional support needs to the extent that the mainstream context is or is predicted to be significantly impairing their well-being and educational progress. The needs of our pupils are closely monitored and reviewed. Wherever possible, opportunities to extend their learning to our mainstream environments will be considered and taken forward with a view to maximising their social skills and providing further learning experiences.

The provision provides a dedicated space, equipped to meet the specific needs of children at all stages in their development, including a quiet room, a sensory room, access to a kitchen to support life skills development and a dedicated playground which our pupils access throughout the day to help support their learning. Our whole school approach to supporting such needs means that children make positive transitions between our ISP and mainstream classes.

Our provision provides specific and flexible ranges of support for primary age pupils from across Perthshire who have social and communication difficulties associated with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and related conditions. We do this by providing a safe, caring, low arousal environment; acknowledge the individual needs of our pupils; work in partnership with parents, carers and families, as well as other professionals; and develop skills, understanding and knowledge that will enable each pupil to achieve their full potential. We have a strong focus on equipping our pupils with the social, communication, self-help and regulation skills that they need as they continue in their development.
