Term 1
What a busy and exciting start to Primary 4!
Both classes have returned after the summer holidays full of enthusiasm, and we are all looking forward to an exciting and enjoyable year together in Rooms 12 and 13.
The first few weeks have been a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get to know one another, settle into their new classrooms and reflect on how much they have grown and changed since starting Primary 1.
Our context for learning this term is “Weather Around the World.” The classes have shared what they would like to find out about and are looking forward to exploring different climates, discovering why some places are hot while others are cold, investigating extreme weather and researching ways we can help to look after our environment.
We have also begun exploring Children’s Rights. One of our first tasks this term was creating our very own Class Charter. Our rights focus this term is:
- Article 7 – Name and Nationality
- Article 8 – Identity
Our Health and Wellbeing focus this term is understanding how we feel about ourselves. We will be developing our self-esteem, recognising our strengths and identifying positive role models.
Room 13 enjoys learning with Mrs Watt on Wednesdays and Thursdays, where they develop their ICT skills and explore Beyond Number topics in Numeracy. They also enjoy P.E. with Mr Wright on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Room 12 has enjoyed learning with Miss Sinclair over the past few weeks and enjoys P.E. with Mr Wright on a Monday.
We are excited for a jam-packed Term 1 and look forward to sharing our learning and achievements with you throughout the term.
