Life at Tulloch Primary School

Welcome to Lighthouse with Mrs Kayiranga.

Lighthouse learners are really good at adapting to new challenges. This term many of us are learning from home but we’re going to have lots of fun. Our topic is ‘Carnival of the Animals’, based on a suite of classical music by Camille Saint-Saens. We’re going to learn about the different animals in each piece, as well as learning about the instruments and sounds we can hear. Watch out for some great artwork too!

In Numeracy we will be learning about number processes, patterns and shapes. Numbers are used all around us and we’re going to have fun spotting how we can use number patterns to solve more tricky problems.

Our Health & Wellbeing focus is Road Safety when we are out and about in the community. We will also be setting personal goals for self-care and practising being more independent when getting ready for the day.

In Lighthouse this term we are reading ‘The Tin Forest’ and making art and writing about the book.

In Numeracy we have been learning about the time and focussing on our individual targets. We do lots of maths games so we can also learn about taking turns.

Our topic is Weather Around the World. We are making weather vanes and rain gauges to measure the weather, and making our own weather reports. We are learning how to keep ourselves safe in different places. We are trying hard to earn house points and love seeing how our house is doing every week.

From everyone in Lighthouse!

In Lighthouse have been working really hard this term. We’ve done lots of adding and subtracting and are feeling a lot more confident.

We’ve been watching Newsround and learning about what is happening in the world around us.

We have been doing charcoal drawings and learning how to follow instructions carefully. We blended the charcoal carefully when drawing koalas and pandas.

We have been learning how important it is to be Ready, Respectful and Safe at school. We made our class charter display like a flower garden to help us remember our rights and responsibilities.

We have had a lot of fun!

We have children from P3, 4, 5 and 7 this year.

Some of our favourite things to do at school are joining our mainstream classes, practising cooking, learning outside, doing our individual jobs and learning how to play well together and be kind.

Other things we love to learn are languages, sport, science and music. We are doing lots of painting and artwork this week, thinking about Our Wonderful World.
