Lighthouse

Welcome to Lighthouse with Mrs Sutherland and Mr Cameron.

Mrs Sutherland is our teacher on Mondays and Tuesdays and Mr Cameron teaches us on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  Mrs Brown is here every day to help everyone in the classroom and the playground. On a Friday, Mrs Inglis works with us in Lighthouse until break time.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday.  We are practising our ball skills in the MUGA – throwing and catching, bouncing and rolling, dribbling and kicking.  You can come to school wearing your PE kit on those days and as school routines and the weather change, indoor gym kit and shoes will be needed.

Mrs Sutherland and Mr Cameron have worked with the children to set up classroom routines that make us feel safe and happy so that we are ready to learn.  We have worked together to agree good listening skills and how to be polite and respectful when working and learning together.

To enable us to shine bright we have a reward system where we earn marbles. Whoever collects the most marbles is the Lighthouse Star of the Week. We also show off our best literacy and numeracy work on our star award displays.

Lighthouse class homework will be on Seesaw.  Mrs Sutherland will explain the tasks on Mondays and it will be posted on Tuesday.  There will be one must do task about what we are learning in class and two choice tasks which you decide whether to do them.  To give you plenty of time, task one should be done by the following Monday.  News and messages will be there too.

We are ready to shine brightly in Lighthouse.  Let’s get started!
